Driving And Staying In France

Sometimes, you want to enjoy your travel time. Different destination and the different way. So, why not try to use car and explore France. Driving in France can be a real pleasure. The French have a very good system of highways called the Autoroute. The Autoroute is a network of over 7000 kilometers/4200 miles of roads. Like most transportation in France, it works on the hub system with Paris as the center.

Most of the freeway (autoroute) links are toll roads. Some have toll station giving you access to a section, others have entrance and exit toll stations. Tolls are either a flat rate paid as you enter the Autoroute or based on how far your drive. When you pay based on distance, you take a ticket at the station where you enter the Autoroute. When you exit, you give the ticket to the attendant at the exit station, and your toll will be determined. You can pay with either cash or credit card. Don't lose your ticket as you will pay the maximum toll.

On the fast Autoroutes, you are expected to drive on the right and pass on the left. If you are in the left lane, cars will approach within a couple of car lengths. There is nothing you can do about this, so try to avoid getting fixated on your rear view mirror and move to the right as quickly as you can.

Hotelsenfrancais has plenty of hotels available for road travellers at the last minute across all of France. There are four of France's major cities namely Paris, Marseilles, Toulouse, and Bordeaux. Paris Hôtels is a well-liked holiday destination for road travellers. Paris is the capital city of France. It is situated on the Seine river, in northern France, at the heart of the Île-de-France region. For road travellers who drop by Marseilles, don't forget to check out Marseilles Hôtels. Marseilles is the largest and most populous commune in France after Paris and is the centre of the third largest metropolitan area in France.

Toulouse is a city in southwest France on the banks of the Garonne River, half-way between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. With 1,117,000 inhabitants in 2007, the Toulouse metropolitan area is the fifth-largest in France and the fastest growing in Europe. Road travellers who travel to Toulouse can visit Toulouse Hôtels. Last but not least, Bordeaux is located near the European Atlantic coast, in the southwest of France and in the north of the Aquitaine region. For road travellers who want to drop by Bordeaux, can visit Bordeaux Hôtels for more details.
